So on friday night my friend, who is a stylist asked me to assist with a shoot the next day at the Beaufort St festival and that we would be meeting at 7:45/ 8 am, which didnt make me super excited because I was already exhausted from work and just wanted a sleep in but I said yes because he is one of the kindest and most loyal people I know and it would be great experience.
So my saturday morning started with a 6:30 am wake up ( because it takes me a good hour to always get ready) and leaving the house at 7:30 so I can be punctual and hopefully get my morning coffee fix which did not work out so well because every freaking side of Beaufort street was blocked off, which okay is fair enough but I am geographically challenged and was getting lost in the back streets.
Eventually I made it, with my coffee in hand and started. Since it was a photoshoot it was a lot more chilled. The models were getting hair and make up done ( aveda and Sc Artistry) and some of the vollies were taping shoes while I was steaming the garments (which is kind of therapeutic) and then organising the garments into the looks for the shoot.
When there was a free time, I asked my friend if I could leave ( I dont usually) only because there was nothing to do until 2:30 pm and I was leaving at 3 anyways because I had to get ready for my work experience that night (which was all the way in Fremantle). So he was totally ok with it and I left even though I kind of had fomo because I really wanted to see how the photoshoot turned out.
anwyays here are some pics from that morning…
Then that afternoon, my friend and I headed to the Fremantle Prison for the event called “Convicts for a Cause” which was sponsored by the Cystic Fibrosis Organisation. It was really cool because it was so different. The point of the night was to raise funds for the organisation by having Politicians being “locked up” and they had to reach bail. Which most of them did.
Here are some pics from the night, might I add the theme was superheroes which is why everyone was dressed up.. Luckily there were more than enough volunteers so we got told we can leave earlier, still a few hours longer than a 12 hour day but it was all so fun 🙂
how was your weekend?
